SCE Resources supplies slag based aggregates to the Sydney and Wollongong markets from its base in Port Kembla.
SCE through Steelstone processes, blends and recycles industrial slag products as an alternative to quarried aggregate products.
Due to the unique properties of slag materials, the process results in superior products for road base, road capping, pavement, stabilisation and other specialised applications, as well as supplying materials for standard construction purpose. SCE has pioneered the use of slag aggregates in Australia which comply with Australian Standards and NSW Roads and Traffic Authority specifications.
Slag is a byproduct of the iron and steel making process and is classified as an inert material. The use of slag aggregates is a viable and sustainable alternative to quarried natural aggregates.
