Playing our part to reduce Carbon Footprint

SCE is committed to working with our partners and customers to further sustainability and resource recovery within the demolition waste and natural material sectors.

“World Environment Day (5 June) is a good time to reflect on what we have done, what we are embarking on, and what we anticipate will form part of our future endeavours in order to play our part, as best we are able, in reducing our footprint across what we do,” says SCE’s Managing Director Michael Aubin.

“Each year, SCE recycles hundreds of thousands of tonnes of concrete and demolition material and industrial by products and transforms those resources into bespoke pavement and construction materials,” Aubin said. SCE’s sustainability initiatives include:

  • Planting almost 5000 trees at Hebden Quarry in the Hunter Valley
  • Providing transport and ship loading services to a leading collector, processor and supplier of recycled metal for one of the world’s most abundant and valuable recycled products, scrap metal.
  • Testing new cleaner technologies including hydrogen gas cutters, exploring the adoption of electric and hydrogen trucks with our partners and future suppliers
  • Exploring new waste technologies with international partners that will one day form part of our day-to-day businesses.

SCE is committed to making resource recovery and sustainable working an achievable goal for every business it works with.

Using a combination of cutting-edge technology and forward-thinking strategic goals, SCE is pioneering a path towards cost-effective, easily accessible industrial recycling.

“With numerous economic, social and environmental benefits, we believe that recycling is the future of modern industry.”

“Happy World Environment Day from the team at SCE, we are proud of what we have been able to achieve and encouraged by what is possible.”
